About KLP: Kitchen Literacy Project is a local initiative dedicated to promoting healthy cooking skills and cultural exchange through the Syracuse food community. We offer a diverse range of programs – free activations at libraries and community centers, and in-depth, ticketed classes, dinners, and tastings – all led by Syracuse’s passionate health and food community: chefs, home cooks, farmers, food artisans, and healthcare professionals. Revenue from our paid events fuels our core mission – providing free cooking education to Syracuse City School District teens. By empowering young people with kitchen skills and a love of good food, we cultivate a healthier future for generations of Syracusans.
