Syracuse, NY
Your next big idea could have a home at Salt City Market.
Some of Syracuse’s best food experiences begin with a family recipe, a cultural tradition, or an idea someone can’t stop thinking about. At Salt City Market, we believe those ideas deserve room to grow.
That’s why we’re opening applications for our available micro-stall, and we can’t wait to see who joins us for this next chapter! Apply Now!
A Small Space for Big Ideas
Located near South Salina Street and our open seating area, the 112-square-foot micro-stall offers an opportunity for an entrepreneur to bring a new food concept to Salt City Market. Whether you’re an established food business looking to grow or an aspiring entrepreneur ready to take your first big step, we want to hear from you.
The possibilities include sandwiches, salads, soups, smoothies, sushi, steamed foods, desserts, and other food retail concepts suited to the space.
The stall has electrical outlets and a handwashing sink, with additional cooler, freezer, and dry storage available in the market’s basement. Because the space does not have hood ventilation, concepts must be compatible with its equipment and food preparation requirements. Products must be prepared in the stall or in a Health Department-certified kitchen.
Growing Businesses. Building Community. Creating Opportunity.
We believe local entrepreneurs should have opportunities to build businesses, create economic stability, and build generational wealth doing what they love. We believe cultural diversity makes our community stronger. And we believe that when local businesses have the opportunity to grow, the entire community benefits.
Opening this micro-stall to the public is another way to put those beliefs into action. We want to connect with people who have a vision for a food business, help create opportunities for local talent, and welcome another unique concept into our market.
In keeping with our mission, priority will be given to applicants who live in Syracuse and/or plan to operate their business within city limits, as well as minority-, immigrant-, refugee-, women-, and veteran-owned businesses and applicants from low-income or other historically marginalized backgrounds.
Ready to Bring Your Idea to the Table?
Applications are officially open! If you have a food business concept that could be a great fit for Salt City Market, we encourage you to apply.
The application deadline is October 27, 2026. All applications must be submitted by that date for consideration.
The fact sheet includes more information about the stall’s dimensions, equipment, and operating considerations to help you determine whether your concept is a good fit.
Have a big idea? We’d love to hear about it. Let’s make room for something delicious.
