LONG-AWAITED INDIAN CUISINE TO JOIN THE SALT CITY MARKET

[Syracuse, NY, September 16]—This fall, Indian restaurant Masala Heaven is set to join eight other vendors in Downtown’s global food hall.

Masala Heaven will take over the stall formerly occupied by Firecracker Thai Kitchen, which exited in August due to the owner’s health issues after four and a half years in operation.

“Indian food has been high on the list of cuisines customers have wanted to see since the inception of the market,” said Maarten Jacobs, Executive Director. “It’s exciting to bring our first South Asian concept into the market mix while showing that we’re always listening to our customers’ wants.”

Masala Heaven opened in Cicero in January of this year and quickly garnered acclaim for their vast daily buffet options, amassing 493 Google Reviews with an average 4.9-star rating. Their Salt City Market location, dubbed “Masala Heaven Express,” will offer a similar but pared-down menu geared toward the Salt City Market’s fast-casual format.

“I was interested in opening a location in Downtown Syracuse, and was excited to learn more about the Salt City Market. When a vacancy in the market came, it felt like the perfect opportunity for our business to grow stronger,” says Gary Singh, owner.

In addition to Masala Heaven, Singh also operates the Masala Heaven on Wheels food truck.
